What Sync's AI can create

The AI generates four types of interactive elements:

Polls: Multiple choice questions with multiple answer options. Perfect for gauging opinions, checking preferences, or sparking discussion.

Quizzes: Educational questions with correct/incorrect answers. Great for training sessions and knowledge checks.

Word Clouds: Single-word response prompts that create visual representations of group sentiment. Ideal for brainstorming and capturing initial reactions.

Discussion Boards: Open-ended prompts where participants can submit text responses like digital sticky notes. Best for collecting ideas and feedback.

How to generate an AI interaction

Step 1: Upload your presentation as PDF

First, upload your presentation in PDF format to Sync. The AI feature works with image and PDF-page slides, analyzing visual content to generate relevant interactions.

Step 2: Select a slide and click the AI icon

Navigate through your deck and select the slide you want to use as the basis for creating an interactive element. Look for the AI icon (magic wand) in the bottom-left corner of the slide and click it.

Step 3: Choose your interaction type

You'll see four interaction type options. Select the one that best fits your goal:

  • Poll: To gather opinions or preferences with multiple choice options
  • Quiz: To test knowledge with right/wrong answers
  • Word Cloud: For single-word responses visualized together
  • Board: For open-ended text contributions

Step 4: AI creates the interaction

The AI analyzes the visual content of your slide using vision technology. It reads text, understands context, and automatically generates an appropriate question based on what it sees. This typically takes a few seconds.

Step 5: Edit and add the slide

Once generated, review the AI-created content. You'll see the generated question and suggested answer options (for polls and quizzes). Edit anything that needs adjustment and click Save to add the slide.

Step 6: Position the slide in your presentation

The new interactive slide appears right below the selected slide. You can drag it to any position in your presentation flow as needed.

Tips for best results

Use clear, text-rich slides

The AI analyzes what it sees. Slides with clear headings, bullet points, or key concepts give the AI more context to work with. A slide showing "Benefits of Remote Work" will generate better poll questions than a slide with only an abstract image.

Match the interaction type to your goal

Think about what you want from the audience:

  • Testing comprehension? Use Quiz
  • Gathering opinions? Use Poll
  • Quick pulse check? Use Word Cloud
  • Detailed feedback? Use Board

Review the language

The AI detects text in your slide and generates content in that language. If your slides are in Spanish, the interaction will be in Spanish. If no text is detected, it uses your account's language setting.

Edit for your audience

AI-generated content is a starting point. You know your audience better than any algorithm. Adjust the wording, difficulty level, or focus based on who's in the room.

AI interactions work particularly well for:

Quick preparation: You have a presentation in an hour and need to add engagement elements fast.

Repurposing content: You have existing slides and want to make them interactive without starting from scratch.

Consistent quality: You want well-structured questions across many slides without spending time crafting each one.

Here's a typical use case:

  1. Upload your PowerPoint or PDF to Sync
